Had no idea but this book was about a viral outbreak event and could’ve been written by a fortune teller. Published more than 20 years ago the novel follows a virus of unknown origin which quickly turns into a pandemic with all the political intrigue that entails. One of the craziest inadvertent predictions revolves around a segment of the population that believes the pandemic is fake and even gets as detailed as a plot around “governors from Southern states” facing off with scientists working on eradicating the virus. Near the end the story veers off in another direction entirely, but I found it was still a pretty good read and reveal at the conclusion.
