Butcher & Blackbird by Brynne Weaver
Did not finish book. Stopped at 52%.
Both MCs were immature in their own ways. I don’t care for insane levels of instant attraction and I wasn’t shown chemistry on the pages, not much in the first 50% of the book, anyway. They were just two conventionally attractive people with the same hobby. They only met up every several months to a year. You’re telling me they didn’t have enough chemistry to show me more scenes together than that in that time span? I’m sure their texting life was great but I wasn’t seeing that, wasn’t seeing them grow closer. They didn’t even kiss for four years. This book was such an interesting concept and yet I didn’t care at all about the characters or their relationship. I cared more to see them murder people. At least that was fun. DNFed halfway through and skimmed the rest. I think there was some nice interactions towards the end but I’m glad I didn’t read everything leading up to it.
