Summerwater
by Sarah Moss
Summerwater tells the story of a miserable summer day in a Scottish cabin park through a series of short stream-of-consciousness stories, interspersed with very short abstract scenes. Moss is very good at writing distinct characters in this, and it is an intriguing story, but the ending fell flat for me. I think that may be because I was expecting more from it because of the synopsis. I think if you go into it as more of a series of short stories exploring different characters then you might enjoy it more.
