Lover Unbound by J.R. Ward
4.0
Vishous is, thus far, my favorite of the Brothers and his story is compelling. There remains a problematic treatment of the female characters in this series and Jane (V's love interest) is no different. Vishous is the most complex character in the series so far but I wish Ward would have spent more time exploring the depths of the obvious complication presented by Vishous's love for Butch. The depths of their affection for one another is not so easily dismissed.
This is a general and abiding criticism of Ward's work in the series. Ward's spends so much time setting up the emotional life (or lack thereof) of the characters and so very little time on the development (and/or fallout) of the love affairs. Lightning bolt love/devotion/mania gets old pretty quickly.
