Kitchen Affairs by Brooke Cumberland

1.0

There was not a single part of this book that I liked. It was such a mess - not just with the story but the writing as well. The author switched from past to present tense like she was changing the channel on the TV. The transitions between scenes and between flashbacks were either not clear or not fluid making it hard to know what was going on. The structure was horrible and all over the place. Aside from that, we never get to see this amazing connection between Drake and Molly. It's just told to us -"we had a good time" "it was amazing". How are we supposed to see them as a couple? The only time they actually spend together is when they're having sex. Sex is not a relationship. Especially when it's not even sex written well.

Then there was Molly herself. What a naive, clueless, idiot. The only strong characteristic about her was that she was raising her daughter alone. But honestly, even that gets blown to hell when not even two weeks into "dating" (aka: sleeping with) Drake, Molly asks her daughter if she wants Drake to be her new daddy.

I have no idea how I even finished this book considering the dialogue made me cringe and I was ranting about it on every page.
