This was a long-haul read, but it was worth it for the payoff. I do think certain things could have been cut to reduce the length of the book, but it was more about unnecessary extra details/inner monologues than it was about substance. The only major thing I took issue with was the prologue chapter; it gave us a huge spoiler that hung over my head through the entire book rather than acting as a teaser for what's to come. At a certain point, it became pretty obvious what was going to happen which made the rest of the journey to get there take forever.
All that being said, this was still a solid book and a good ending to the Rise and the Fall trilogy.
