This book is winding, terrifying, haunting -it's a truly impressive form of literary art that manages to combine magical realism with gut-wrenching depictions of brutality and trauma. Toni Morrison's writing is deeply lyrical and meandering, as though you are wandering through a landscape that is both dream and reality. I'm glad to have read this, yet also glad to put it back on my shelf. While Toni Morrison's works are objectively great literature, I cannot candidly say that they are enjoyable.
