Captain Pantoja and the Special Service by Gregory Kolovakos, Ronald Christ, Mario Vargas Llosa

3.0

I can see a lot of male readers praising this book...fair.I'm not gonna say basic thing like "book for men" but "really is". Vargas Losa sure has written better books and I'm not gonna read, sorry this one is enough misogynist, full of macho ego, poor men so desesperate for sex that they rape women and all this with unfunny jokes. Everything detailed here is true to reality of poor, isolated areas of Amazon forest, prostituition, exploration sexual, bizarre religious people, corruption moral and politic, abuse of power economic and still this book are boring irritating.
Vargas Losa is creative but not my favorite and of course female characters are the saving grace here...
