Future Home of the Living God by Louise Erdrich

Probably one of the most creative dystopias I've read; a little Children of Men, a little Jurassic Parkish. Despite the imaginative aspects and despite the at times hopeful tone, I failed to connect with the story. Maybe the themes cut a little too close to how things are politically at the moment, I found it hard to keep going after the halfway point and more or less skimmed the final twenty pages. I don't think it's the fault of the writer, but I couldn't wait to be done.
