⭐️⭐️ (I'm on the fence if this is 2 or 2.5 stars)
This one fell flat for me. It started off slow, and I truly had zero f*cks to give about Alex…and once things kick off with the retreat, it just got weird. Like, trying to be edgy for the sake of edginess. I hated how this ended, too. It was refreshing to have LGBTQ+ representation, but even that felt a little forced…like we’re gonna stick all these women in the same house, someone’s gotta get their freak on, right? I should learn to not read reviews on Goodreads - people up in arms because of the “wOkE PrOpAgAnDa” because there is ONE Black character and a few sexual encounters between the women…and one demon. JFC people…1) learn the meaning of woke before you start bandying it about, and 2) I am worried about you if you’re more offended by lesbian sex than you are at confinement and nonconsensual drugging.
