I will confess that I DNFed the first one, but I thought this one might be better. In some ways, it was, but for the most part, it wasn’t.
I think I’ve discovered that I do not like a feminist FMC. I’ve never read one that didn’t end up just pitching a fit anytime a man disagreed with her and always causing more problems because she refuses to listen to a man. Both of those happened in this book. The fmc didn’t come across as strong and fierce. She seemed whiny, spoiled, and entitled. It got old to read about her snapping and just going off on Elden when he disagreed with something. He def deserved better.
I loved Elden, but can any of these guys use a subject? Why does most of their dialogue start with a verb? Elden was a smart kid, so you’d think some of that education would come through in his language.
The storylines are fine, but they’re way too drug out without much happening. I gave this series 2 chances, but I think I’m tapping out at this point.
