The Girl Who Survived by Lisa Jackson
4.0

Rating: 4.5/5 stars

I was immediately hooked on this book from literally the first chapter, and the rest of the book did not disappoint. It is a chilling thriller that will leave you hanging on to every single word and continuously wondering who did it. The story was told in multiple POVs, the main narrator being Kara who is the girl who survived the Christmas Eve massacre of her family when she was a child. Now it’s the twenty year anniversary of the tragedy and her half brother, who was 18 at the time and convicted of the murders, is getting released from prison after a key piece of evidence is overturned. I honestly didn’t know who to trust or what actually happened the night of the murders since the only accounts we have are Kara’s, which she was just a child whose memory could be warped, and the police’s which obviously could be incorrect for many reasons.

I read this book so fast, it was like 3 days straight of not wanting to put it down, and constantly thinking about it. I think it’s going on the list of one of my favorite thrillers and I am definitely going to read more of Lisa Jackson’s books!
