bellatonin 's review for:
City of Bohane
by Kevin Barry
challenging
slow-paced
This is the most Irish story I've ever read, and I fear I may be too American to appreciate this in full. The city is vivid (layout, colors, language, etc.), and it was my favorite part of the story. I didn't really latch onto any of the characters though, so I found I wasn't really cheering for anyone in particular. It was very different from the books I typically read, and I enjoyed the change of pace.
