It was an interesting premise, but the plot took too long for me and I didn’t feel any empathy for the main characters. Calla had decent character development but that may have been at the expense of everyone else the author took the time to introduce in the book. The surprise at the end does leave me open to reading book 2, but I’m in no rush. Overall I give it 2 stars with hopes for the next one.
