If you're looking for just a solid, compact primer on all preservation techniques with some sample recipes, this is the book for you!  Nothing personal (except an appreciable LOVE of preserving foods), nothing cultural.  Clearly knowledgeable about food safety, but doesn't let the writing become too scientific either.
