- Drop everything on your TBR and read this trilogy! It’s just breathtaking!
- Both books so far have been 5 stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
- 3 POVs, including a new cast of characters for multiple complex plots
- Action-packed: I normally have a hard time imagining battle scenes, but this time I was RIGHT there, fully immersed.
- The reveals are jaw-dropping!
- Love the choices author makes and her poetic writing style — I was highlighting quotes constantly
- The mental movie that played in my mind was just incredible
- Magic, war, and even spooky elements
- Short, but meaningful chapters
- Such vivid imagery!
- Perfect pacing
- 📱+ 🎧: I wish the audiobooks were better—they’re pretty rough. I almost DNFed book 1 because of it, but I stopped listening and restarted completely with the ebook and was hooked. I didn’t have time to do that for this one and really wanted to get back into the story.
- It really helped to have a male narrator take over the MMC’s chapters this time, but his voice was still not how I imagine Max’s. I think I was able to get through the narration this time after having crafted voices in my head from reading the entire first book and some of this one on ebook.
