Really fun and fast-paced read. Definitely a must read for pop culture nerds and geeks. plenty of fun references.
As fun as the novel is though Cline leans on the references a little too much and as a result he does very little world building. Cline relies on the reader knowing enough of the reference to build the picture themselves. So if a reader doesn't know enough references scenes fall completely flat. Cline also skates by with the bare minimum in character building.
Despite not being a very complex scifi, the book reads like a movie is a really enjoyable read. Because of the pacing would highly recommend the Will Weaton audio version.
