What a fun read! The character development through the story is amazing. The story follows Trixie Belden, who's brave and sometimes brash nature gets her into trouble. She meets Honey who is a sweet and timid neighbor. They bond over their love of horses and as they spend more time together they inspire one another to fix their flaws.
Secret of the Mansion is a great story line. It starts off with a grumpy old neighbor who becomes deathly ill and is taken to the hospital. Which gives the opportunity for Trixie to snoop around the now abandon mansion. Trixie's curiosity at the mansion snowballs into a series of events.
I also love how the story talks about different family situations that each character is in and it puts things into perspective for Trixie to fully appreciate her family.
