A gripping opening to what promises to be an amazing story!
The Beauty is essentially an STD which makes their hosts remain beautiful. Most people want it, most people have it but it comes with a HUGE price - spontaneous combustion!
The artwork is amazing and at times, I felt like I was watching a film and not reading a graphic novel. Honestly, it propelled me into a completely different world!
I did enjoy reading this book although I was left wanting a bit more. I understand that a series has to keep the suspense going to maintain an avid readership, and despite devouring it, I'm not sure that I was 100% satisfied. There are definitely a few questions which still need to be answered but I'm sure the next issue will provide me with some answers.
Overall, an intriguing concept which, artistically, was executed exceptionally well. Roll on volume 2!
