It took me longer than I'd like to admit before I remembered that this book is an alternative history, the research and world-building is so strong you have to remind yourself that it's not true. I liked that Harris centred the story away from Hitler himself too, putting the reader at ground level with a detective who likes to gets his hands dirty. The last 200 pages really picked up and although it's not my favourite Harris read, it is a solid detective story that leaves you contemplating the phrase... "History is written by the victors"
