The Shuddering follows a group of friends who have met up at a secluded cabin in the woods. A winter storm blows in, and with it come terrifying creatures.
I have read two other novels by Ania Ahlborn, and so far, this is my favorite. This book was pretty fast-paced and intense. There are more people who die outside of the friend group, and I love that. I loved the little scenes of other people on the mountain finding trouble as well.
The friend group seems to have complicated relationships, which is part of what makes the group so vulnerable to the creatures, besides just being human.
This novel definitely made me think twice about wanting to move back to where it snows
