The Shearing Gun by Renae Kaye

4.0

I am fast becoming a big fan of this authors works.
I like the humour in the writing, the down to earthness of the stories, having never been to Australia I love books set there. I find the pacing of the writing really good and damn fine stories too!
I did enjoy Hank and Elliott's story. I liked the slow build with the flirting. I didn't mind the sheep farming sections - I enjoy learning bits of different cultures as I read, and being made to look up things (shearing shoes in this case).
Whilst it was heavy on the sheep, we didn't get much on the doctor side of things but it was good to see normal guys going about their work and having to juggle time together around both their work.
Any angst there was, was more around the events that happen rather than between the two guys. Hank does step up to the plate when he is found out, acknowledging to himself that even a short while before he would have tried to deny the obvious. Neil and Middy were good, fun support characters and show that everyone has secrets they want to keep.
