Don't Hex with Texas by Shanna Swendson

4.0

Okay the ending on this one... **sigh** It was awesome.

I did debate between a three and four stars for this one because while I found much of Katie's family to be funny, I also thought many of them were useless characters that didn't need to be included. Three older brothers, with three spouses and multiple children, plus the parents and the grandparents seemed excessive and some of the lesser used characters seemed downright flat. Also most of the townspeople introduce were either irritating or obnoxious and really not great additions to the cast of characters. I didn't like the Texas setting nearly as much as NYC.

That said I loved a lot of the action humor in this book and enjoyed some of the interactions between Owen and Katie who were back to playing the same game they did in Enchanted Inc of neither one really understanding what the other is thinking or feeling. Their relationship ups and downs were upsetting to say the least.

Overall it's a great improvement over the previous book in the series and despite the things I didn't like about it there were even more things that I did so I'd definitely recommend it.
