The grand finale of a trilogy of magic and mystery! We follow yet a new pair of protagonists: the journalist Alan, introduced to us in the previous book, and (Lord) Jack (Hawthorn) who's been around since the start of the series and might not have given the best of first impressions. They've both been roped into saving English magic from dastardly fiends who wish to use the Last Contract to steal it all. But neither Alan nor Jack are exactly known for "working for the greater good" - and they're not too keen on working together. Not at first, at least...

A wonderful ending to a wonderful trilogy! I love pretty much everything about this series: the prose, the characters, the sex scenes, the mystery, the worldbuilding, the relationship dynamics; the list goes ever on!

Highly recommended to anyone who enjoy stories about hidden magical societies, all manner of romances stories, and magical mysteries!
