Great book, although left me a little underwhelmed, but isn't that how racism and misogyny works? Slowly, not creating huge waves, just drowning us.
I would say it's my least favorite out of Kuang's books which is still a HIGH praise.
The book grips its reader and the plot flows quite fast, with a few stumbles here and there. Reading the thoughts of such a disgusting and tiring character was a weird experience. Not sure if even a chapter from a different perspective (Athena's? her sister? another?) would elevate the work or not.
And I'm always down for shi**ng on twitter 🤮
