House of Earth and Blood by Sarah J. Maas
5.0

I really need to be shrunk down and embedded in the Madam Sarah J. Maas multiverse, it’s where I wish to be. It takes a whole hell of a lot to make me cry while reading and this book accomplished it—there is no love like a girl gangs. The amount of sittings it took me to read this is indicative of its length and need to establish its universe. Once you get through the first 200 pages of world-building, you’re goddamn good to go.

I want to give a couple of shoutouts to: a seriously thoughtful and realistic portrayal of grief; a first 100ish pages twist I’m still reeling from; a kickass and complicated MC (love you Bryce); the last 100 pages that had me in tears and on the edge of my seat; and the official best SJM man: Prince Ruhn Danaan. I have no critiques for Ms. SJM and I cannot wait to dive into the next book.
