This book is about twin girls that are born in the segregated south. The girls are extremely light-skinned as are most people in their small town. When they get older they leave that town to try and “make it“ in New Orleans. Eventually, they go their separate ways and each decide to live their lives in different ways — One as a white person in the other as a black person. Lots to say here about race, class, and identity.
