The Night She Disappeared

If anything, this book has just left me tired.
It's a long one. 71 chapters, plus an epilogue and it was long—sometimes dragging. There were some good parts but there was so much text and build-up for something that didn't feel all that satisfying to me.
Don't get me wrong, there were truly some good parts that I enjoyed but it took me so long to finish this book because there was so much exposition and so many questions afterward. It's still a decent book, but a lot of moments simply brought me pure frustration.
I hate that they went with the cheating route, MULTIPLE CHEATING ROUTES, BY THE WAY. I understand that they are stupid, dumb, under-the-influence teenagers who don't always make the best decisions, but I found it hard to root for most people. I especially had a hard time rooting for Lula in the middle of the book, it was only in the end I wished the best for her. I get her mindset would be messed up but she annoyed me with wrong choice after wrong choice. Scarlett and Zach do NOT know what love is, Jesus FUCK. I know that's probably the whole point but it was so hard to keep on reading when my blood pressure was rising.
It's a thick book with slightly smaller text (maybe an 11?) and it was grating. So many descriptions of the surroundings and very little substance in some chapters. It only started picking up around chapter 54 and even then I wished for more. I would've liked it better if there was less in the middle and more at the end, because now I feel like it's lacking.
Also, there is a mention of TikTok, and a moment where Scarlett says "FFS" in a verbal conversation rather than "For fuck's sake." I had to take a breath for a moment after both.
It was just okay.
If you must know, the only person who I was holding on for was Kim.
