A Lady of Persuasion by Tessa Dare

3.0

I was not looking forward to Bel's story because she was so darn good in the second book of this series. And that was sort of an issue in this book that Dare kept trying to get into but then glossing over. But at least Bel wasn't as annoying as I thought she would be.
We met Sir Toby in the first book when he got engaged to Sophia, the heroine of the second book. Too bad he's the hero of the third book. Yep, he got jilted. And he decides to take revenge against Sophia's husband by hitting on the pretty lady that Sophia's husband is dancing with. Except that the pretty lady is actually the husband's sister, Isabel "Bel" Grayson. He seems to fall in lust and out of revenge pretty fast. And then acts like an asshat promising things that he knows he doesn't want to deliver on.
I think it is a testament to Dare's writing that I really had some issues with this book but still read it pretty fast.
