Addicted to You

I swear I tried to enjoy this but it was hard. although I'm a sucker for books that have this kind of theme (characters thinking about their lives and changing aspects of it because they aren't healthy), this book can't be a 4 stars for me
I hated lo and lily's relationship so much. which I expected. I mean, they are both addicteds. addiction with addiction is the recipe for disaster. but it was so much worse
lo at the beginning LITERALLY riled her up just in the hopes that she would see him and jump him. that she would see him as a possible hook up (when he wanted so much more) and that is risky. the entire first part was me trying to figure out if he didn't understand sex addiction at all and thought that it wasn't so bad or if he just wasn't considerate
fortunately, I realized that he did understand the pain that lily was going through. unfortunately, he's a little bit inconsiderate
so, I wasn't able to like lo until the end when all shit went down and more of his relationships started being discussed. I cried with him cause he gets more relatable towards the end, but still. not liking the character that most appears othen than the MC is crazy because he will always show up
and same thing with ryke. the way he was introduced was so??? the whole scene was weird. him being like "I'm hard to get rid of haha" would make me call the police. like go to the receptionist with this guy's picture and BAN him. he was also very pushy, but I did understand his motivations so there's that
overall he seems hot. I like him (but it took some time)
by the way, the whole reason he was there I called it since the beginning. being empathic towards someone's addiction isn't enough if they don't want your help and there are little reasons that would make you fight for them
now, I loved connor cobalt and rose. I loved connor cobalt since the beginning but his interactions with rose?? GOLD
I didn't love rose as soon as I met her, but she's my queen now and I'll worship her
lily... I liked her. I think mostly cause it was her pov, because if it was lo's I would probably have a hard time liking her as well
I have my reasons and won't discuss further
anyway. I can't say this is a great representation of what sex addiction is like, but I believe it is. I don't think the book is well written or anything, but the characters are clearly well flashed out and I definitely want to know more about daisy, rose, connor, ryke and more of the rest of the characters. the way lily's addiction was described actually made me feel something cause it was understandable. I understood why the both of them chose to keep their addictions a secret and the discussion of how keeping it a secret wasn't just damaging them, but also the people around them
I will definitely read the rest of the series cause I want to see more and based on reviews it does get better
