I didnt love the narrator. He often made "jokes" in the middle of a thought and I often had to stop and puzzle out what the author was intending to say. It's very much my sense of humor, but between that and the constant interruptions to the plot to remind me of the hints in the preface it really screwed with the pacing for me.
That said, I initially liked the preface and the hints at what would or wouldn't happen. The premise of knowing everyone is a murderer and just trying to figure out how is interesting. I also thought the big reveal at the end was well done.
