Wow. This book blew me away. I was just expecting a spicy dark romance, and then Keri Lake came along with this captivating gothic mystery that totally gripped me! On top of that, there was the pretty accurate scientific part of the story, which was a very cool extra. The setting is dark and menacing, but even as a complete newbie to this genre, it wasn't too much. I really liked Lilia. Devryck is the definition of morally grey, and the romance between the two is... hot. Although the emotional connection is not neglected either. There were some plot twists that I did not see coming at all, and overall, the book simply surprised me in a very positive way. It is read perfectly as an audiobook, and I can absolutely recommend it.
