The reasoning for that .5 off is that the pacing was just a bit too slow for my full enjoyment. Something odd, that might be related or might not be related but I feel like also impacted my reading experience, I found myself having to wear my glasses while reading this or else I wasn't able to make good progress. This is probably normal to a lot of people, but as someone who rarely has to wear my glasses, I found it to be a strange experience. Maybe it was the font size, but the font size didn't seem too off. I don't know! Just something I'm mentioning to describe my experience.
But clearly, it is still 4.5, so still something amazing. So do not take any of that to mean something really negative. I found this book to be really beautiful, in a heartbreaking and earth-shattering way. I also found it to be very educational. I wish that I could go more in-depth on how much I loved this book, but I'm not sure that I have a lot of words to say about it other than that I loved it. Not only would I absolutely recommend this to others, but I believe that others should read this. It tells a very important story.
