3.5

Realistically, I could give this 3.5 stars. I really liked it, but for a novella establishing the core of the story as it was set in the World of the Narrows took longer than I expected. By the time events kicked off to drive Willa & Koy's actions forward and push me to care about them more than before, the novella was drawing to a close. The premise promised quick action, which is not quite what happened. Willa proves to be a strong character in her own right away from West, though, and I loved her working relationship with Koy. Young set the ending up in a perfect way to continue Willa's adventures in the Narrows, and I hope she does.
