I'm not much of a crier in books, bit this one almost had me, twice. It's not a sad book! Just one that really hit me in the feels. The two seperate character plots of Rose and Ben, were switched between and linked together in such a beautiful way. Honestly, it was poetic. And the characters themselves and their individual stories were so interesting to read. They are both Deaf/partially deaf and looking at things from their perspective really changed some ideas in me - which I think is an amazing attribute to a book, so kudos to the author!

The story also carried me along so quickly, I was so absorbed I don't even think I blinked! The page count could be scary looking, and honestly, that's why it took me so long to finally get around to it, but really, it was a quicker read than a 300 page book.

I also need to mention just the general fun I had when reading this book. It swaps between written and drawn narratives and it was cool to piece together the clues that linked together the characters. For example, Rose's narrative is primarily visual and at the beginning there is a postcard which you had to have read the names on, in order to understand the significance of her later actions (hence why I have also logged this on my graphic novel shelf, although it really a mix between). It was just a really cool format which I hadn't experienced to that level.
