This prequel to The Hunger Games was very enjoyable, and it was interesting to see some of President Snow's backstory. With the loss of his parents in the war, I understand his prejudice against the districts at the start, but he had every opportunity to let go of his elitist views and Capitol-bootlicking ways and create positive change and have what I would call actual happiness... but instead continues to be a despicable human being and become the tyrant we all know and love hate. Despite how much I hate him and the ending (because I do prefer a happy ending), I really love this book and all of the books in the Hunger Games universe.
