"Brother in all things, brothers in all things that matter and those that dont"

Hey guys, so I finished Fate of the Fallen (The Shroud of Prophecy, #1) by Kel Kade. It was definitely not what I was expecting. Yet the author still made the journey interesting and captivating, driving me to keep reading. I am glad I did. Though I must say, the premise leads you to believe one thing about this book, when it is anything but. Yes, there is a chosen one then things go astray. THen Everything you might think of this book is shattered and built anew. It really is a wild ride, filled with danger, drama and deceit. You really cant hold any exceptions for this book, you just gotta dive into it head first and let the book take you where it wants to go. It is actually really easy to get lost in the story. The writing is descriptive, but necessary, there are not too many frilly or wordy things that do not belong in the story. Most of the description is used fpr the characters and their thoughts, feelings, and some surroundings. Not only there, but this book also had its own history that was dwelled on some, and of course, it had its own magic and stuff that had to be explained, which I actually really enjoyed. Especially when it kinda ties together, even those it kinda doesnt as well. Of course, their history also incldues their origins, the orgins fo all life and who created that and it was just really cool. And goodness, there are so many characters, well, sideish characters. I swear, every other page a new one had been introduced. The back of the book said there was going to be a cast of characters TK, so I hope thats true, cause I had a heck of a time trying to keep up with who was who. I was so confused at one point, my mind was spinning. I forced myself not to think about what was happening and just go with it. That helped a bit, but still, this book has got mortals and immortals, and that makes things messy. I like that most, if not all, the characters had some sort of purpose. They werent just there to be fillers, they actually contributed to the storyline in some way. However, that also meant ther ewere many subplots and various things in motion alongside the grand plot. So that made things a bit hectic yet wild as well. In some ways, it all fit together great, in others, it didnt. Like some of the action scenes seemed rushed and choppy, more of telling in a static and stiff manner rather than showing in a smooth and flowing manner. It was hard to follow the action scenes, and when I did, i often had to reread them cause i was like "did i really just read that". I actually liked the other scenes, like the traveling and gathering and calm scenes moreso, lol. I loved the interactions between the characters, that was the heart of the story. The heart of the story also belonged to Aaslo, he was just amazing. Truly. He made so many sacrifices and dealt with so much, all because he loved his brother. Aaslo had a heart of gold. He is also so wise, and thoughtful, and critical, and analytical and practical. He's like the only who has their head on straight. He is also willing to fight for what is right, fight for those who cannot fight themselves. He is willing to do what no one else wants to do. He is stubborn, determined, dedicated, and loyal. I am not going to say anything else about anyone else cause that might be a spoile.r Hell, I actually was wondering how I was going to write this review because the story goes so far from the original premise saying anything beyond that would be detrimental. Thus, why I am sticking to vague and grand themes rather than nitty gritty details. I really dont to ruin this book for anyone, they really need to experience this journey and all its twists and turns for themselves. And the humor is this book is to die for. i was cracking up, literally. SO much so i got asked what i was laughing out. The best character in this book is the hilarious horse, HAHA. so funny. But there were others who contributed tot he funniness of it. But that horse...gods. And the ending, MY GOD. THAT ENDING. It has been a while since I screamed and got angry at such an ending. It was so abrupt and GRRRR. THis is the second ARC to do this to me. I swear! UGHHHHHHHHHHH. THE ENDING IS SO NOT AN ENDING. HOW DARE THEAUTHOR DO THIS TO ME. It was getting close to crunch time, adn then BOOOM. Why the hell, I ughhh. I am so frustrated and irritated. After all we had been through, the author was cruel. Figures, this is how the author gets me to want the second book when the first isnt even officially published for christs sake. I hate it. I love it. I need the second book. Alright, im going to stop talking because i spoil something. Remember, this is all my opinion, if you want your own, read the book when it comes out. Okay, see you next time, bye.
