Ms. Marvel, Vol. 2: Generation Why by G. Willow Wilson

i really really wanted to like this series. i really did.

i read the first volume and wasn’t a huge fan, but i decided to keep going to see if it got better. and… it didn’t. it might get better later on but i don’t really feel like sticking around to find out.

this comic has great representation, which is severely lacking in superhero comics, and kamala is a great character, but that’s about the only good thing about it. the story/villain isn’t great and the art isn’t good enough to save it, it’s cheesy at times and it feels… immature? that’s not really the right word to describe it but when i read this i feel like i’m reading something made for 10 year olds… even tho i’m a teenager which i think is the target audience here?? i usually prefer dark, bold, intense comics with lots of violence and dark humor and sexy damaged characters with tons of baggage, and ms marvel is Definitely none of those things so. this was really not for me but based on all the positive reviews it seems like i am in the minority here
