Tender Is the Night
by F. Scott Fitzgerald
This book has taught me certain things about life, for which I am always grateful. "Literature is a smaller world and therefore better understandable. It helps us to see clearer in the chaos presented by reality." I know that this is quite a superficial statement about the book, and I might add that the end dissapointed me, the whole story dissapointed me, but that is only because the theme made me unhappy, not because the story is bad or badly written. In fact, nobody could have written it more beautifully. Fitzgerald is a master in condensing pure beauty in one sole sentence.
This book has fascinated me, has amazed me and if i would be true, i'd give it five stars. But the wry feeling it left me with, has partially harmed the image of this book in my mind.
