Did not finish book. Stopped at 60%.

There were a few sus things, particularly when it came to black characters. One is an unpaid caretaker and one is the only character who actively turns into an animal (a dog specifically) and that feels...off putting. There’s also been some discourse about the author whose politics do not align with mine and I will not be supporting them.
