To Not Fall for My Doc by Gianni Holmes
4.0
To Not Fall For My Doc is a really sweet romance with a relationship developing between an oncologist and his patient. I wasn't too sure on that premise but the author handles it very well.
Austin is two years clear of Hodgkin's lymphoma but still sees his doc, Dr Greer every three months and most times when he volunteers at the treatment centre, visiting patients and spreading his general positive disposition amongst them. Dr Greer is always aware of Austin and is dealing with the fact that he's attracted to his patient.
When it's discovered that the feelings are mutual, I liked the way that played out, not marring the doctor/patient relationship apart from the perception of other doctors which cannot be helped.
Both men are sweet and endearing in their passion for wanting to help others. Austin has been through so much and it's wonderful how upbeat he is in his daily life and Malcolm works hard to do all he can for his patients. When it came to their relationship, they make a lovely couple though for me things moved a little quickly, the MCs feeling those emotions before I did. It's very light on the daddy/boy aspect. Malcolm very much liking to care for and look after his boy which Austin slowly comes to accept and enjoy.
Overall, this is an enjoyable story, quite light on the angst level considering what Austin has been through and where parts of the story take place. Slight trigger warning that a side character passes away off page.
I received an ARC and am happily giving a review.
