After watching the series and seeing various episodes multiple times, I finally sat down to pick up the books. I was expecting a bit of a slog getting into it, but I was happily surprised. There were a couple subplots that felt out of place in the larger story, but overall, it was a really solid read. I can't wait to pick up the next one.
I had to skip over two small sets of pages due to a few short scenes I knew were coming. If you know you have certain things you just can't read, I definitely recommend checking the content warnings and searching up what pages you should skip past. It's easy info to find, and the book is worth the effort.
