one of the first scifi books i ever read, right after i read [b:Childhood's End|414999|Childhood's End|Arthur C. Clarke|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1296548211s/414999.jpg|209414] also by clarke. in fact, i remember being so young that i didn't know how to properly pronounce rendezvous :) anyway, though all the other reviews on goodreads say to not go on and read the follow-up books to this one, i really did enjoy them. go figure.
still, this is a great book that can be read on its own and loved for only what it is. if you love scifi but haven't read it, then you MUST.
