I think the main reason I enjoyed (and devoured) this book so much is because so much is up for interpretation. And normally I hate that, but it worked so well for me here. The rage and abandonment in a workshop. Feeling like an outsider. The representation of her voice, her art, and that the ideas themselves are her soulmate. The fucking possibility that Samantha is schizophrenic or some other type of mentally ill that leads her to make up all the magic. The idea that writing or art instead is magic/magical.
