A short story about Crow-Girl, a girl who finds herself alone in the world after her grandmother passes and leaves her isolated in an otherwise uninhabited cove. She sets out to find other people, having both positive and negative interactions along the way. Ultimately she becomes the glue that pulls a new found family together - a young boy unwanted by his grieving father, a mother and daughter escaping an abusive man, a shepherd who nurtures them all back to health, and eventually the return of the young boy's father and older brother. Together they all offer skills and abilities that form a beautiful community from people that were once isolated and struggling to survive. Crow-Girl finds a family, a home, and at last, a name.
