I wanted to like this book. No, I wanted to love this book because my sister recommended it to me and our reading tastes are almost identical. But, I didn't love the book. I started it over a month ago and just couldn't get into it. First the names; Henry, Kansas is the setting and the two main characters are Henry and Henrietta. Really? The only thing that can make sense of this is either 1) the author was clearly unimaginative (which can't be the case given the original story line) 2) future installments of the book series will clarify this or 3) there is no rhyme nor reason.
Given the originality of the story line, I was very excited to delve into this new fantasy world. But even after reading the sneak peak into book two, I think this may be as far as I go into the world of Haney of York.
