This was so gross and predatory. I was so disappointed, I expected a good book and almost every time he travelled back and met Clare  I was disgusted. So many things that happened made me wonder why so many people forgive this book simply because it is written well. Some things just can't be justified and romanticised. I'm just so disappointed (a woman wrote this?). Certain things shouldn't be excused.
He kissed her for the first time when she was fifteen and he was decades older? He had sex with her on the DAY of her eighteenth birthday when he was DECADES OLDER?
I have no idea why this book is so beloved, even in this day and age.
