Girl in the Mirror by Cecelia Ahern

1.0

I Have greatly enjoyed most of Ahern's books but this leaves me totally baffled, mostly because of the ending of the first story. I can't see what justifies it. It seems almost racist: is an immigrant with no close relatives less valuable than a young woman who couldn't control her curiosity? This might have made a good theme for a novel but as such it almost makes me not want to read anything else from Ahern. I mean, what is she trying to say with this? It doesn't look like it's about raising ethical question? or is it?
