Girl, Forgotten by Karin Slaughter

4.0

Karin Slaughter writes murder mystery fiction, where the murders are… sometimes gross.

In this book Slaughter brings back Andrea Oliver, from Pieces of Her (a book by Slaughter, and then a TV show). In the previous book, she had very little self-esteem, and less backbone. That book saw her develop some determination. She has developed some more since.

This book sees Oliver join the Marshall Service, start protecting a federal judge and investigate a murder that’s similar to her earlier experiences. It’s… not perhaps as gross as of her other books, but it rattles along, all the same.

The question is if you can believe that Oliver has developed some backbone, and been able to blag her way into the Marshall’s Service. If you can buy that I think you’ll enjoy this.
