i am such a sucker for sam markum’s writing. this was so cute! she is one of the only writers that i’ve found that can make me love a ya book the way i used to.
i love the friends to lovers trope and she does it so well! i am also a sucker for soft boys who fall first and graham totally fit that to a tee. and i really liked how junie wasn’t perfect. she was definitely likable enough for me to enjoy her as the main character, but the fact that she also had flaws made her very relatable, especially her being a teenage girl.
the author also always does side characters so perfectly. this book has great found family vibes and sam markum writes friend groups really really well. i have loved, in both of her books, how the side characters are so three dimensional and are all so well thought out.
this book was very cute, it’s a great summer read, and i 100% recommend.
